A great way to support the Playhouse, and have some fun!  "Mardi Gras in June" will be the theme of the pre-season fund raiser for the Forestburgh Theatre Arts Center to be held on Saturday, June 8th from 5:30 - 9:30 PM at the Playhouse.  The evening will feature previews of the opening productions of The Odd Couple and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat as well as a few tidbits from the opening cabaret Be Our Guest:  Our Favorite Music from Disney. 

Last year's event at the Playhouse was such a success that the Board decided to hold this year's event at the Playhouse as well.  Our supporters and subscribers always enjoy this pre-season event - they get a chance to meet the new company of actors and artists and re-connect with the great summer theatre tradition of Sullivan County. We always serve a great meal, and this year will be no exception, as Mr. Willy's will be catering their special barbeque with all the trimmings.  The event will take place in multiple locations:  the tavern, of course, and under a tent provided by Spencer Daniels Agency, and if the weather cooperates, in the Playhouse gardens and grounds.  The Silent Auction will take place in the Playhouse lobby.  We are especially grateful that the entire event has been completely underwritten by our Board President, Stuart Salenger.  This way 100% of the money raised will be tax deductible for the donors, and 100% can be used to help pay for the upcoming 2013 summer season.

Items for the Silent Auction will be gratefully accepted by calling the Box Office.  Seating is limited, so don't delay.  See you on June 8th!

Now there is another great gift option from the Forestburgh Playhouse.  A dinner/cabaret AND show Gift Certificate.  For just $59 per person ($118 for 2 people), the lucky recipient gets a delicious pre-show buffet dinner with our famous tavern cabaret show - then a main stage performance of a great Broadway musical or comedy.  One great meal and TWO great shows - now that's a perfect gift for any occasion!

Go, go, go Joseph! From the composer of sensations like Cats and The Phantom of the Opera comes another hit: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat - a musical of Biblical proportions! Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people. For 30 years, the Forestburgh Playhouse has been famous for our nightly cabarets - after the show, everyone is always buzzing about them.  And why not? Great music, great food,  no cover charge - and now you can see the same great cabaret before the show! Whether you're an early bird or a night owl, there's no reason to miss the fun!  If you don't like to be out too late, we will be presenting pre-show cabaret with a delicious buffet dinner every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings at 6 PM!

Dinner starts at 6 PM sharp and features a fresh garden salad, a sumptuous buffet with 3 entrees and the works prepared by Playhouse chef Jill Padua, finished off with a tasty dessert and coffee - all for just $24.95.  There's a new cabaret and a new menu for each mainstage show and it's all listed here.  Wine and cocktails are available of course.  And subscribers not only get preferred seating - they get a special price as well:  only $22.95.  And then cabaret show begins at 6:40 PM - the beginning of a night of theatre and entertainment as only the Forestburgh Playhouse can  provide!

The Forestburgh Theatre Arts Center is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation which operates the Forestburgh Playhouse.  As specified in the Articles of Incorporation, the mission of the Forestburgh Theatre Arts Center (FTAC) is to provide a venue for the performing arts, specifically live theatre, music, and dance, for the cultural enrichment of the people of Sullivan County. In furtherance of this mission, the Forestburgh Theatre Arts Center shall:

1. Operate a summer theatre in Forestburgh, NY whose principal, although not exclusive focus, will be on productions of American musical theatre;
2. Nurture young theatrical talent by their participation in these theatrical productions;
3. Develop and operate an educational theatre division whose principal, although not exclusive focus, will be to develop a relationship with local elementary and secondary schools in Sullivan and nearby counties for the purpose of exposing the students to live theatre and related performing arts;
4. Develop a facility where playwrights, composers, directors, and choreographers can explore new work without overwhelming commercial pressure.
